Katherine graduated from Dalhousie University in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology 2013. She spends most of her days with athletes as the Head Coach of Pisiquid Canoe Club. Being an athlete all her life, a running injury brought her to try out her first yoga class six years ago. Knowing she fell in love with something new, she made it her goal to go to India after school to gain more knowledge of Yoga. Katherine completed a Yoga Teacher Training in Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga in Kerala, India, 2014. Teaching yoga once a week in Downtown Dartmouth to a small group of supporters, she’s loved watching their practice grow and become stronger, as well as learning how yoga positively affects their quality of life. “We have a great community and I know when Dartmouth comes together, we have a lot of heart.”
ASHTANGA VINYASA YOGA, Tuesday 7:15-8:30 pm
This class consists of a set sequence of poses (asanas) performed at a constant flow creating heat within the body. Focused heavily on achieving the Ujjayi breath to keep the heart rate down and the mind calm while the physical body releases tension to find a relaxed state in each asana. You’ll leave the class feeling energized and strong.
